Please note that i do tend to use in and around the " Very Good / Near excellent Condition " grade for a lot of my records , although none are heavily scratched etc and most will just have some general light surface marks only . I never use a " Mint " or " Near Mint " grade . Everyone obviously has their own opinions as to what is very good and excellent , but in my case , i tend to think that most , if not all records do have marks to some degree ( lots even from new ! ) purely because they are vinyl and mark easy and have been used over a considerable amount of time in most cases . This is also why i do often go into more detail than most with my descriptions , as the term " Very Good " can be a bit vague . I do use the " Excellent Condition " grade , but in my case , i would class this as not played very much , excellent shine and just a handful of the very lightest whispy type hairlines only , most only being visible under a light , so you know that when i use excellent , i really do mean excellent and i do pride myself on this fact , i will say i can go a little OTT with noise and general condition and can often make a record sound bad when it really isn't , i do just try my best to say how it is , please don't forget though , that all records will obviously vary in sound quality etc on other set ups depending on the quality being used etc , but please do check out all of my feedback and you will see you can bid with confidence , thank you .

CD’s , Cassettes and DVD’s are sent in strong bubble wrap envelopes. These are also taped with brown parcel tape along all edges and seams for added protection.

David Bowie Hunky Dory LP RARE 1ST PRESS LAMINATED FRONT NO GEM LOGO  SEE DETAILS Pro Cleaned On UK RCA Victor Glossy orange with white and black print paper labels SF 8244 , matrix numbers are SIDE 1 : APRS 5947 3T Bobil A1E SIDE 2 : APRS 5948 3T Rasputin A1D or possibly A1B ? , but checking on Discogs site , i think it is A1D which refers to the third matrix variant . Please see photos for track listings . This one is the true 1st pressing without the Gem logo in the top right corner on the rear cover . I have copied some extra info below from the Discogs site: . It has the front laminated cover and laminated spine 

When preparing the UK edition cover art from the US supplied artwork (David Bowie - Hunky Dory) RCA mistakenly removed the GEM logo from the rear sleeve. Close examination of the cover shows it has been artworked out. It was subsequently restored on the next UK edition, though in slightly different position. (David Bowie - Hunky Dory) .

COVER: Factory single card front ( and spine ) laminated cover generally in a very good and clean overall condition , some may even say slightly better overall but i always prefer to undergrade if not sure . A very very few very light and small general age related / surface / handling marks in places mainly a very very few hairlines on the laminate , some only really being seen more at certain angles to the light , there is one larger one under Bowie's ear on the front , but this is dead straight and to me appears to have been there from the start of manufacturing , this one can only be seen at certain angles to the light The rear is in great shape with just a light bit of rubbing from the ring wear mark just below the centre section of the top edge , really one of the cleanest rears i've seen in a long time . There is a light bit of dulling but this is mainly just from the ring wear mark on the top section . The usual but generally light only ( very light only on the rear and quite light on the front , mainly due to that light rubbing ring wear ) marks are present . Some normal useage / age related wear on the side opening edges with a few small knicks on the paper on the very outer edges which show white ( not tears but with  very tiny paper loss ) and a bit of very light denting near the opening edge on the rear , but this really is very very light indeed on the rear , there is just a small bit of " gapping " present , there is some usual fraying / rubbing etc on and just near to the corners which has taken off the laminate and colour , there are no obvious signs of rubbing etc on the edges except for by the corners as mentioned , there are some usual laminate crease lines in places round the edges and just a couple of small ones on the main picture , the spine is very good and fully legible , there is just some mostly light denting and just a couple of usual but very small and light laminate crack lines on the spine , the is the already mentioned fraying visible at the top and bottom of the spine from the corner wear , the cover is writing free . 

INNER SLEEVE: Off white die cut paper inner sleeve in good / near very good condition . It does appear to be the rice paper type and has blue print at the bottom on one side saying Patent applied for and Made in England . There is the number 208 written small in what looks like black biro in the one top corner on one side , there is some age related foxing mainly round the edges and some tiny knicks on the top opening edges , there is some light denting and the usual but light ring wear marks , there is a bit of light creasing but this is mainly from the outer edge of the record , unfortunately i can't confirm if this is the original inner sleeve . I will also be putting the record into a new plain white paper inner sleeve . 

INSERT: The sepia lyric insert is present and in good condition , but i'm not sure if it is the original as it doesn't look dark enough ( but that possibly could be down to the fading etc ? ) , it was with the record when i got it but i know the 1st press ones are slightly darker than the later ones . There is some age related fading present and a bit of light denting and the odd very light crease line in places . As i say , as i can't say for sure , i would rather say i can't confirm if this is the original insert . 

LABELS: Shiny orange with white and black print labels generally in near excellent condition , still very nice and clean with just a very small bit of wear in places round the edge of the spindle hole on both labels , but i do think this could be a slight printing defect ? though obviously i can't say for sure , this is only really seen close up and mainly just at certain angles to the light , there are just a very few usual but light and small spindle marks , both labels are writing free.

RECORD: The overall visual grade of the playing surface under normal average household light conditions is only very good condition with just a few mostly light / very light surface marks / scuffs , there are quite a few hairlines some being slightly more visible and larger but still light , there is one which does lightly sound ( please see audio descriptions below ) , that said , i actually couldn't feel anything , the last photo does make the two hairlines look worse than they are but i took all of the photo right up to a bright light , but i must stress , these are not deep nasty scratches , most of the hairlines are just the usual very fine ones and odd clusters of very light and very fine mainly whispy type hairlines and sleeve removals , with just the odd one here and there being slightly more visible and larger but still light and non feelable and mostly more on S1 , the record does still also retain a nice shine , there are no nasty gouges , i will also say that many , if not most of the finer hairlines and actually some of the light surface marks / scuffs are really only more visible when held at certain angles to or under a light , please do read all of the audio descriptions below . Please note that there maybe the odd tiny dust particle or tiny bit of fluff etc seen on the record in places in the photos off my wiping cloth due to static etc , i can't see them on the record at the time but they sometimes do show up when I take the close up photos , this is also because i do take the photos before i vacuum clean the record , thank you for your understanding . AUDIO A SIDE: Silent run in has some usual but generally light noise . It plays through without any skips or sticks and the audio tones are great and it plays nice and crisp and clear , however , there is a long passage of mostly light pops / ticks present approx just before half way and for the rest of the track , ( just the occasional very light one before this point ) on T1 , there is also some mostly light / very light vinyl static crackle type noise present in places mainly on the quieter parts . these pops / ticks also go onto the silent track changeover line from T1 to T2 and are obviously louder here , these pops / ticks also go on for a time on T2 along with some mostly light vinyl static crackle mainly heard on the quieter parts on T2 , i have done a video at approx where all this starts on T1 , but obviously as i say , it does go on longer than shown in the video , there was static crackle present and odd light pop / tick on the guitar solo and some light static crackle on the vocals just after , there were also some pops / ticks and static on the other guitar solo at the end , i think this was all on T3 . T4 just had the very very occasional light pop and a tiny bit of occasional very light background vinyl static crackle , but this really was very light only . The next silent track changeover was light and T5 played through fine , the changeover line was very light and T6 just had a very very faint bit of background noise on the intro and odd bit of very very very occasional very very light pop . Silent run off has some usual but generally light noise . 

AUDIO B SIDE: Silent run in has some usual but generally light noise . I am pl;eased to say this side plays much better , perfectly crisp and clear throughout on the music playback with not a fantastic amount in the way of obvious noise that was worthy of mention , i heard the odd light pop / tick around the half way mark and some but mostly very occasional bit of very light noise in quieter parts with a slightly louder bit again around the half way mark briefly and there was one tick right at the very end on T1 , there was just a very very light bit of noise on the intro on T2 , T3 i'm pretty sure was fine and played great overall , there was just two light ticks on the intro of T4 then excellent , there was just the very very very occasional bit of very faint noise on the first part on T5 , but this really was very very light indeed , there was a few ticks / pops in places later on on T5 , mainly two very very light pops  then approx eight quite light ticks just after , then i think three or four other very light pops , bar these there was just the odd mostly very very light pop ,  there was no nasty continuous crackle present , there may just have been the odd pop here and there that i may have missed . Silent run off has some usual but generally very light noise . This side on the music really does play very well and sounds great overall bar those few quite light ticks and the audio tones are still awesome .

** Obviously far from a pristine example on the vinyl ( but a nice enough and clean cover ) but mainly just with the issues as mentioned on S1 and mainly approx half way through T1 and T2 , but as i say please do read all of the audio descriptions , thank you ** .

There were no jumps etc when tested on my deck and it still retains a very nice shine . Any noises tend to be in shorter bursts and most are over quite quickly . If any noises are more frequent or louder etc , they will be described separately in the above detailed descriptions thank you .

I have started this one off at what i think is a sensible but very keen £294.99p for such a collectable and highly sought after true first pressing , the extra shown is what Ebay add on for their fees . Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times , but displays no major deterioration in sound quality , despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch , some forms of noise will more than likely be heard in places especially on the quieter parts and the odd tick or pop may also be heard in places especially on the quieter parts , but none of this will overpower any of the music in any way , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Please see the descriptions above for the cover condition .

Very Good / Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows no overly excessive play wear . There will be some light only surface marks though most will be just fine hairlines , there will be no major deterioration in sound quality at all though some amount of light noise / occasional light pop may be present in places especially on some of the quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , the record will play through perfectly , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail . Near Excellent: The record has obviously been played but shows only light signs of this , a few of the lightest non feelable surface marks being mostly very fine hairlines will be present , but it displays no deterioration in sound quality . Some brief bits of very light noise and very occasional usual light pop maybe present in places and would be acceptable on some quieter parts , but none of this will be loud or constant or overpower any of the music , light edge warps etc and some light " dishing " are acceptable but will not affect the play or sound quality at all , any warps that are more prominent will be described in more detail .
