David Bowie: Hunky Dory Vintage LP 1978 Re-release Excellent LP, Cover, and Sleeve
"Hunky Dory" is Beezar Audio's absolutely favorite David Bowie album.  The album was Bowie's 4th studio album release in 1971.  It was considered to be where "Bowie starts to become Bowie."  Certainly for me, in high school at the time, it was the first I had heard Bowie, first starting with "Changes" released early in 1972. (I didn't understand all the cultural references - I just liked the music.)  By the time I had graduated later that year, Bowie had become my favorite.
Hunky Dory" reached #3 on the UK Albums chart and reached #57 on the US Billboard 200.  The single, "Changes," was the first single released for Bowie by RCA, who claimed at the time that Bowie was their next "Elvis."  I lived in Memphis at the time, so there was some argument on that score.  Nevertheless, "Changes" was Bowie's official US chart debut, reaching #66 on the US Billboard Hot 100.  Interestingly, after Ziggie Stardust's success, the single "Changes" was re-released in 1975 and reached #41 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Not to be outdone as a re-release in 1975, "Changes" hit #49 on the UK Singles Chart and #10 on the US Billboard Rock Songs ... in 2016.  That's right: 2016! 
Despite RCA's comparison with Elvis, Bowie had a close connection with the area of Memphis, in particular with his collaboration with Mott the Hoople, who became a Memphis favorite with their Bowie-written hit, "All the Young Dudes."  Bowie also had a connection with local urban legends in a similar manner as Elvis, with one story of his car breaking down on I-40 (known as the "music highway") between Nashville and Memphis, with a Tennessee State Trooper befriending him and helping to get his car fixed.
Most of the members of the Spiders from Mars are on this album, along with a guest appearance by Rick Wakeman, shortly before he joined the group Yes.   
This is a re-release purchase in 1978 and is absolutely in Excellent condition, given the qualities of "RCA Dynaflex" vinyl.  This was a later version of the RCA Dynaflex and has a black label with the dog/victrola.  It seems a bit thicker and more resilient than the pure-orange-label Dynaflex LPs.  As with most of the LPs from Beezar Audio, this one was played once for a needle drop cassette recording, then stored vertically in air-conditioned space ever since.
