One of the less common Japanese releases.

To put it simply, David Bowie's Low is a creative high point. Bowie himself had already been a forerunner to the glam rock movement, and even had tried soul and funk in the past, but nothing could have prepared the world for Low. And what a gift it was unto the world! Featuring blaring synthesizers, wild guitar playing, and a memorable cavernous drum beat, it's a sound unlike any other. Another thing that is memorable about this album is the split between side one and two. The first side gets much of the attention and acclaim thanks to its groovy beats and fragmented vocal performances from Bowie. Most would agree that it's the better side, although this means in no way that the other side is bad at all. The second side consists primarily of mostly instrumental ambient songs that are just as gorgeous as they are eerie. It's a jarring but beautiful shift from the heaviness of the first side, similar to a rainbow after a thunderstorm. I cannot heap enough praise upon this album. It's brilliant, memorable, fun, and gorgeous in all the right ways.
