Description

David Bowie -- Man Of Words, Man of Music

U.S. White Label PROMO LP, Mercury Stereo SR61246

White label promotional issue of Bowie's first solo.  Back when he was trying hippie on for size.  You know-- Sun machine is coming down, and we're gonna have a party, ohohoh... Rare, and just plain fun.  Gatefold with white label, someone stamped "SECRET" on the label as well as in one place inside the gatefold.  Condition I would rate as VG/VG.  Cover shows some wear, some light stains on back.  As for the record itself, side 1 is visually near mint, plays VG+/EX.  Side 2 has what is honestly an ugly looking mark on An Occasional Dream (it was there when acquired 15+ years ago) but plays ok on my system-- there are minor clicks, but nowhere near as bad as it looks, and certainly no skips.

Just so's you know... I'm not a dealer, just a music enthusiast that's been buying/selling records for about 25 years and now thinning the herd a little.  I try to be very conservative on my grading since I know there are many very fastidious collectors out there, and I don't want them to be at all disappointed.  All records are graded visually, unless I see the slightest indication of a problem, in which case I get them on the turntable to see how they sound.  I use a scale of (best to worst) Mint (M), Excellent (EX) and Very Good (VG) for my auctions-- I don't sell items in Good (G) or Poor (P) condition. I pack items for shipping extremely well, as I want them to get to their destination safely.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.  I work during the day and so can't necessarily reply immediately, but should be able to get back to you that same evening. Thanks for looking!

Addendum, Dec. 17: I would be happy to combine postage for international orders. Please add $2.00 for each additional album to the base shipping price ($14.00) that is shown in the item description. For UK (as well as other international orders), it would be $16.00 for 2 records, $18.00 for 3 for USPS International First Class.
