Hello there, come on in and welcome to the auction!

As you can see from my 100% feedback, I sell with complete honesty and reliability.  Above all things I am a record collector and music lover.  I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late.  That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence. I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!

I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that aren’t to my taste so to ebay they go!

Here we have a 1st US press of the legendary Bowie record The Man Who Sold the World.

Originally pressed on Mercury and then rereleased by RCA with far better mastering, this is the 1st US RCA press which comes complete with printed inner and poster.

Along with the lowest possible matrix and stampers, the record is in MINT condition and I wouldn’t hasten a guess that it has never been played!

Equally the rare fold out poster has never left the sleeve and is in MINT condition!

Sleeve Condition.

The 1st print unlaminated Shorefax outer sleeve is in superb condition!  There are no rips, stains, tears or pen marks to mention!  The spine is perfectly straight with only very mild wear and all text is perfectly readable.  There is some very minor shelf wear to the corners and very mild ringwear.  The colours are as vibrant as they were on the day of release.  The edges are still nice and sharp and the sleeve lies perfectly flat as it should! A solid Excellent!

Inner Sleeve Condition.

The 1st black inner sleeve with lyrics on is in near perfect condition! It simply looks new!  There are no splits, tears or writing to mention at all.  There is only mild folding to mention! These inners are infamous for splitting but this one holds the vinyl perfectly as it should Stunning!

Poster Condition.

The 1st press black and white poster is simply as new!  I don’t think it has ever left the sleeve!

Label Condition.

The first press RCA orange smooth labels are in fantastic condition.  There are no rips, rubbing, writing or stains to mention.  There is no centre hole damage at all.  Even under a strong light, not a spindle can be seen! Unheard of!

Vinyl Visual Condition.

The vinyl looks unplayed! Simple as that!  There are no signs of use at all!  Under a strong halogen, only the faintest of removals can be seen.  It is as if new!

Vinyl Audio Condition.

The record sounds superb from start to finish!  There are no jumps, skips or distortion at all!  The dynamics of all the different instruments are so well defined and easily separable by the ear.  As you would expect from an unplayed record, it’s simply perfect. A true audiophiles dream in Final Upgrade condition!

So there we have it… One of the rarest and earliest copies of a US Man Who Sold the World you are likely to see and in simply museum quality condition!
