David Bowie - PIN UPS 1984 PICTURE DISC - Unplayed - Very Low Number 40.


So in 1984 RCA released a limited edition of 5 early 70s Bowie albums on picture disc, each disc having a unique number. I could only afford one so siftered through each of them until I could find one with the lowest number. Hunky Dory No 3609? Pah! Ziggy Stardust almost made it with number 903 as three digits were obviously better but then, shining like the lost covenant in a Primary school stationery cupboard, there it was…PIN UPS NUMBER 40!!! A unicorn skipped by, somewhat miffed I’d found it first but it was mine! One day, this would be worth a million pounds, give or take! Not bad for seven quid!


I’ve never played it. I’d never even removed it from the cardboard sleeve until taking the photographs you see. And now I never will because it deserves a new home, one that has a record player and that will, y’know, play it.
