Description
Original 1971 Mercury pressing in Matt cover, nr 6338 041 Stereo.
Cover is showing signs of wear along the top and bottom edges, see photo. The spine is readable. I believe that this is inevitable considering the material used, a sort of textured matt card.
The LP has been stored in a plastic sleeve vertically in a record box and has not been played for a number of years. The front cover does show a faint impression of the record and also some creases at the bottom left corner near the 'mercury' label. The rear cover has a few small marks.
The vinyl is in 'good' condition but I have not played it recently. There are a few marks which I am reluctant to clean (prefer to leave to experts!) and a faint scratch type mark across track one. I would assume that the record plays but with a few sounds (crackles and pops?) that betray it's age. If it is not playable I will refund the purchase price in full.
On 20-Sep-04 at 19:42:11 BST, seller added the following information:I have now played the LP. The faint scratch mark across track one has no effect. As I thought there are a few crackles and pops, mostly noticeable between the tracks and some are probably due to static. The LP plays through completely and the sound was clean and good through the Technics system I used.
I should add that the right hand side of the cover is not completely flat, it has a wavy appearance when looked at on edge. If I can add a picture I will.
