David Bowie The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust 1972.
The 16th June 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of this records release in the UK. To celebrate this milestone I have an original copy of this ground breaking album for sale.
This is the cross-over copy that was released immediately following Bowie's switch of rights management company from Titanic to Mainman. The Mainman credit appears on the record label but not on the outer sleeve.
The cover is derived from the RCA american artwork and is the 2nd variant with the cut and paste of the catalogue number only and was a significant improvement over the 1st variant artwork. The inner sleeve is In good condition no splitting or rips.
This pressing would date to around the time Bowie's manager formed the Mainman rights management company in September 1972.
The 6E / 4E version is considered by collectors and audiophiles alike as sonically excellent and as such is considered amongst collectors to be the grail copy. (It's a tad more bass driven and the top end has been rolled off a little).
