Description

Bowie's The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars shook things up, smashed barriers, sparked tons of new possibilities. It's been four-plus decades since this classic dropped - and now it's back on 180g vinyl, remastered to pay justice to its talented creators. Marshall Bowie's artistry by disguisin' him as a mega-successful rock star. This genius album was perhaps the first post-modern pop record, slyly ref'rin' to rock history while telling tales of interstellar intervention and trendy androgyny. Plus, its concept-less structure adds an extra layer of suspense. "Moonage Daydream" & "Space Oddity" are the perfect space-rock anthems. "Star" & "Hang On To Yourself" gave punk a shout-out. "Starman" cribbed from "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" - its success was set in stone.
