Description

Picked up from a Record Shop in Camden in the late 80's. This has been sat in my collection for over 30 years now.
"Recorded live at Wembley Stadium London, England. 7/5/76" In B/W picture cover.
Even though cover states 'Recorded live at Wembley Stadium London', the actual venue would have been Empire Pool, Wembley, later known as Wembley Arena.
Originally released in Japan by a Japanese label, Marc, as "Don't Touch That Dial", with a single production run of 2,000. See David Bowie - Don't Touch That Dial. Japanese law at the time allowed the production and sale of any LPs by non-JASRAC artists, so long as the recording had been made before 1978. Thus, the original Marc release was perfectly legal under Japanese law.
This unofficial release was then released by the BPI in order to track down and bust a chain of bootleggers (Operation Moonbeam). The result was successful. Because of the success of this sting operation, only a small part of the stock came in circulation. "Stay" is not listed on the cover. Content is same as LP "Don't Touch That Dial" (1976/77).
All records are sent out in professional vinyl mailers (MusicMax) which are regarded as the best mailers available. We add various stiffeners to ensure all items arrive in pristine condition. Be sure to check out our other listings!
