Title : Ziggy Stardust Label : RCA Cat No : SF 8287

Matrix : BGBS 0864 - 1E / 0865 - 2E

Issue : Complete UK 1st Press

This is the exceptionally rare complete UK 1st press of 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' by David Bowie. This press has all of the essential features that together make this one of Bowies rarest releases. It has the 1E/2E matrix, there is no 'Mainman' credit on the record or sleeve, and the labels have a glossy orange finish.

The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a sensational high gloss, there are just a few of the lightest whispy hairlines and two very light marks. The orange shiny RCA labels are sensational. The orange is vivid, the white is bright and the black is bold. The text is perfect and there is only the slightest spindle wear. On playing the sound is warm, vibrant and very clear. There are brief moments of background noise but these are completely insignificant, the vocals are very sharp and the background bold. It sounds superb.

The delicate sleeve is in Good condition. The black is bold, the colours are vivid and the image is entirely unworn. There is a split at the bottom which has been taped many years ago The white text is sharp and the opening edge is firm. This cover which is usually so delicate and worn, is very solid and the pinched spine is firm with clear text.
