Description
This is a 1974 gatefold vinyl of David Bowie's album "Diamond Dogs," which DOES NOT include the track "Bewitched." This is the 8th album release and was originially pressed without the credit to Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. This was rectified in the UK very quickly and recognised Rodgers only then also Hart sometime after.
Released by RCA Victor, midway through the track, Bowie plays a version of Richard Rodgers' 'Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered' on guitar. The song first appeared in the 1940 Rodgers & Hart musical 'Pal Joey'. While it was missing from the very first UK releases, the credit appearing as "Bewitched (R. Rodgers)" was added shortly afterward to the Side A and was correctly credited shortly after as (Rodgers/Hart) on later issues.
Bowie also gave a nod to Scott Walker's rendition of Bacharach-Hilliard's 'Any Day Now' towards the end of 'Future Legend'. Walker had released the song on his album of the same name in May 1973. The final ingredient was the crowd noise used in the segue between 'Future Legend' and 'Diamond Dogs'. This was sampled from the Faces' recently-released 1974 live album 'Coast To Coast: Overtures And Beginners', and includes Rod Stewart's exclamation “Hey!” during the 'Diamond Dogs' guitar intro. This LP features its original cardboard sleeve and is graded as Very Good Plus (VG+). This classic rock record, captures Bowie's iconic glam rock style from the 1970s era. The original cover and stereo format add to the appeal of this collectible piece for fans of rock and glam rock music. This vinyl has the poster of the "Future Legend" the same as the Gatefold sleeve and appears as if it has not been opened
The labels are semi gloss orange and the vinyl is in good glossy condition. There are surface marks and this vinyl has been played through out without any skips or jumps but has surface noise. This is the original gatefold matt cover in very good condition and great colours see photos.
