Description
This is a charity auction to support David Ford's Milk And Cookies 2006 project which includes three concerts in Lewes and London on December 18-20. David plays shows each year just before Christmas to support local charities. As part of the show each year, he produces a very limited and exclusive cd which is sold to help raise money.
The charity David has chosen this year is the Inner Journey Project, which works with homeless young people who have had deprived and traumatic backgrounds and as a result are having a really tough time as they make the transition into adulthood. The project is part of the YMCA’s ground-breaking work with young homeless people and is an innovative approach to helping them acquire life skills, self belief, motivation and ambition to turn their lives around.
Last year the project took a small group to South Africa where they worked with children in local schools and with young people with AIDS. As a result of this experience, they returned with a broader perspective of the world and their place in it, and most are now in full time training and working towards a career and a meaningful role in the community – something that would have been unthinkable for them before.
They are now raising money to repeat the experience for another group, and your contribution through Milk and Cookies will kick this off spectacularly!
I have for auction here an authentic copy of the 2005 CD featuring three tracks - Have Yourself A Bitter Little Christmas, Can't Go Back and 2 Lovers Driving For Another Place. The CD is housed in a plastic wallet with a printed inlay and on disc printing. This is a genuine item purchased for a friend last year who got one by other means.
David's friends and management team have kindly agreed to get him to sign the cd for the lucky winner at the Milk And Cookies show if the winning bidder so desires. This will obviously mean a delay in sending to you until the 19th or 20th so please bear this in mind.
100% of the proceeds of the auction will go to the charity. I will take the face value on the winning bid and write a cheque to the charity to present on the evening at the same time as I get the cd signed. I will cover ebay fees, postage fees are slightly higher to cover any paypal fees.
