Description
Very rare Davy Graham EP: 3/4 AD. Featuring Alexis Korner.1962 release on the TOPIC label. Cat No: TOP 70. Mauve sleeve. Cream label. Side one: Angi; Davy`s Train Blues. Side two: 3/4 AD. Run off on label 263-1; 263-2. Laminated picture sleeve has some partial laminate creasing but no laminate damage. Slight corner wear.(see photo). Rear sleeve has some partial discolouration from storage and the name "A. J. Markham. G11" written in ink(see photo). Overall, sleeve graded VG++. The vinyl has clean cream labels, and no spool wear. The vinyl maintains its original shine. There are a few very light surface marks, more visible if held to a bright light. I have played both sides and the sound is clear and crisp. There is only the odd, barely noticeable, light background, but there is no lessening in sound quality; both sides playing near perfectly. Vinyl graded EX+. The buyer of this incredibly rare EP will not be disappointed.
On 20-Oct-07 at 12:51:50 BST, seller added the following information:I have listed the EP, in good faith, as a first pressing, as to my knowledge, this appears to be the case. The Rare Record Price Guide 2008 states: "First pressing in mauve sleeve with cream label; later pressings with lilac or bronze sleeve and blue label". This is a desirable copy of a very rare record.
On 22-Oct-07 at 18:02:19 BST, seller added the following information:Following very helpful correspondence with a leading expert on the TOPIC label, I am informed that the item listed has a lilac sleeve and not the mauve sleeve as indicated. I am told that "Often the number of records pressed didn`t match the number of sleeves printed so you can get different combinations" (of sleeve and record). The disc is confirmed as an early pressing due to the cream label, but is housed in a later lilac sleeve. I therefore assume that the item listed was released before the record was pressed with blue labels. Nevertheless, this remains a very sought after EP. My apologies for any unintended error in the description and many thanks to my correspondee for the additional information.
