Description
Decca Records Ace of Diamonds Series stereo 2 disc boxed set GOS 558-9, both discs have the earliest white labels, with "Full Frequency Range Recording" across the top of the label (later pressings do not have this). Pressed in England. All four sides have 1G stampers. Early style box, with the larger Ace of Diamonds logo on the front. First stereo issue of this recording. Originally issued only in mono on both Decca and London.
Benjamin Britten, The Prince of the Pagodas, with the composer conducting the Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden. Longtime resident on The Absolute Sound Super Disc List. Phenomenal sound and a great performance.
