Description

It's quite unusual to see Ansermet conducting and recording an orchestra not called L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande! This was done during his last visit to the UK and guest conducting the New Philharmonic Orchestra in one of his signature pieces, Stravinsky's Firebird. It is also a rare opportunity to hear him rehearsing with the members by singing, grunting, humming what he tried to achieve. Unfortunately this turns out to be one of his last recordings!

Record condition: NM/NM/NM-/NM

Cover condition: EX+ (couple small dents, otherwise solid and clean)

Stampers: 2W/2W/3W/2W narrow band only UK pressing
