Description
A 1st pressing of Fireball on the UK Harvest label. Matrix A2/B3. Etching 'PEK'. Stampers 1-LM/3HM. This is the very first iteration of this release with George Peckham's 'PEK' evident in the deadwax and 'Gramophone' still showing in the perimeter label text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original fully textured gatefold sleeve. Also included is the original lyric sheet and the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has seen only the very lightest of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This is certainly one of the best renditions of Fireball I've ever witnessed - difficult to imagine anyone improving on this. Interference is non-existent. All we could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments - literally. Even the quiet passages play super clean e.g. FOOLS. If you're looking for a top-level rendition which will smoke every other copy in existence...congratulations ..you just found it! FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. The front is well preserved without the usual surface wear - and just a couple of undulations. The rear is great too - no signs at all of wear. The interior is nigh on perfect. Edge wear is pretty light - with just a bit more on the spine. Don't expect to be able to make out all the text on the spine - this is really its only let down. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Lyric Sheet (Ex) Great condition. No issues at all.
Inner (VG+) Slight ageing at extremities. One tiny bottom edge splits < 1.c.m.
