Description
DEEP PURPLE FIREBALL.
The UK 1st press has 5 essentials:
A: Gramophone text on the label rim.
B: Textured cover with 7109 (September 1971) on the left hand bottom of the inside gatefold, which was printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.
C: The first production batch came with a lyric insert printed in purple on both sides
D: A generic poly-lined EMI/Harvest inner sleeve depicting other artists' current releases on the Harvest label.
E: Matrix No: Side 1: SHVL 793A-2U with PEK etching( early moniker of the legendary George “Porky” Peckham) and Side 2: SHVL 793B-3U
This has all 5 essentials.
UK 1st press with G&L gatefold cover, Gramophone label rim text, A2U/B3U PEK vinyl, Harvest inner sleeve and insert.
Harvest/EMI yellow/green label with Gramophone Co Ltd text around the rim, there are just a couple of spindle traces.

Released in 1971.
Black textured gatefold cover is notorious for wear as collectors will know only too well as it is made from soft card and of course black which shows up rubbing wear more than any other colour this one is a good VG + with the usual bumps on the corners, and light ring wear on the back.
The Vinyl is a good VG+ if not better, some minor lines which do not affect play.
THE PURPLE TEXT LYRIC INSERT is present and only came with the initial batch sold. It is perfect.
THE HARVEST ADVERTISING INNER is intact with its poly-lining some very mild creasing and handling discolouration it is in excellent condition with NO SLITS.
