Description

A genuine very 1st press of 'In Rock' on the UK Harvest label. Matrix 2/1. Please note labels are consistent with 1st press - 'Gramophone' still appears in the perimeter text and there is NO Emi logo apparent. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover - with only one box round the Harvest logo [1st issue]. Also included is the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In impressive condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side and one tiny just feelable mark which does sound [see detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with two slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A truly super rendition with even 'Child In Time' playing perfectly clean - and that's not always an easy find. Interference is pretty much non-existent apart from the two issues mentioned above. Firstly, In 'Flight of The Rat' - there's a tiny mark [mentioned above] that causes two brief clicks [fully tested and plays through fine]. They're brief and in a passage of frenetic guitar work - so not all that noticeable. And, then, right at the end of 'Speed King' as Mr Paice strikes the drums four times to finish/wind the song down..on the second strike you get a sort of click/jump. Difficult to describe, and I don't think you actually lose a circuit of audio, it's more like a momentary loss of sound. Paice's second drum strike now sounds like he's wobbled or mishit the drums. It plays through fine and it's certainly less noticeable, there, as the song ends, than right in the middle or as it starts up. If you can live with those brief issues the remainder of the Lp plays as good as any copy I've ever heard.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Wow, how often do you see the genuine 1st issue cover looking this good? The front is so pristine it has that mirror-like effect that you find on brand new copies. There are no creases on the front - if I were to pick a fault I'd mention a slight abrasion at the opening edge toward the top... that's where the laminate has ended. The rear is pretty much on a par with the front - faultless. The interior looks very nice and tidy and hasn't aged like some copies. There's very little edge wear at all and the openings are still sharp. Even the corners are still nice and sharp - no dings! The spine is pretty much faultless..100% intact. Overall the cover still retains perfect rigidity. What a specimen!
Inner (Ex) Lovely condition with minimal ageing. no splits or markings.
