Description
Offered for Sale is a Jon Lord (Deep Purple) gatefold "GEMINI SUITE" lp.
"GEMINI SUITE" is composed of five long movements inspired by the members of Deep Purple, Jon Lord, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, and Ritchie Blackmore.
The title of this album is an allusion to the main characteristic of people born under the sign of Gemini - The Twins. (Jon Lord is a Gemini)
He used the LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, conducted by Malcolm Arnold and
in addition such artists as Tony Ashton (an English rock pianist, keyboardist, singer, composer, producer and artist), Yvonne Elliman (a popular American singer, songwriter, and actress), Albert Lee (an English guitarist known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique, and vocal career), and Ian Paice, Jon Lord, and Roger Glover, all of Deep Purple.
It is on the Capitol record label with the LP # SMAS 870.
This is the ORIGINAL 1971 Gatefold lp, with the ORIGINAL inner sleeve. (plain white)
This LP had never been played, (till now) but as a PROMO I received it open. I play tested it and can say 100% that the record is primo.
Never the less, after 35 to 45 years of shifting around in boxes, wear does occur, so PLEASE check the photos for a clear picture of what you will be receiving. I do not rate covers, only the vinyl itself. Also, there may be minor scuffing marks, from the inner sleeve. This IN NO WAY affects the sound, or I would not list it. There is also the possibility that the inner sleeve could have a slit on one or more of its sides.
NOTE: I was a buyer for two different record chains in Hollywood, Ca. As such, I received a couple of boxes of records a week, to entice me to buy. More often than not, they were always open copies, and if you wanted to sell them to a used record store you could only get about a $1.00 cash, or $2.00 in trade for them.
