Description

An original 1st pressing on the UK Harvest label from 1970. Matrix A1/B1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day gatefold cover. Also included is the original Harvest inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb shape and has clearly seen only the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intro and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. And this is very very important for this particular title as orchestral audio really needs the highest standard of recording and preservation to do it full justice. These early pressings from the 70's blow the later reissues out of the water. Fantastic acoustics and great dynamics. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. The only deviation is in 'The first Movement' there's a pop in there toward the end.
Cover (Ex+) In amazing condition and bordering on perfect. Beautifully shiny and unmarked. On the rear there's two tiny creases - and that really is all that's vaguely worth mentioning. The interior is in superb condition. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. Difficult to imagine going any better than this copy.
Inner (Ex) No splits and little ageing.
