Depeche Mode: In Your Room – P12BONG24 – UK 12" promo

Record:

Visually it shows various signs of moderate use: scuffs, scratches, markings, paper dust; labels have a few spindle marks. Both sides have received a fair amount of play, but there aren’t any feelable scratches i.e. scratches which would cause skips or jumps. Both sides play right through. Side A seems to have been more heavily played.

Side A:

Some crackle at start, and light-to-moderate surface noise can be heard every now and then throughout The Jeep Rock Mix of IYR, but nothing which overwhelms the music. Some crackle again as the track ends. Play for Jeep Rock Remix grades between 4 and 6 out of 10.

Some crackle again as the Adrenaline Remix of Higher Love begins. Definitely a little noisier overall than The Jeep Rock Mix of IYR. Play for Adrenaline Remix of Higher Love grades between 4 and 5 out of 10.

Side B:

Extended Zephyr Mix has surface noise, crackle at the start. This is less noticeable as the remix builds, but it’s still there in the background. Overall grading for Extended Zephyr Mix: 4.5 to 5.5 (perhaps 6) out of 10

In summary: this is NOT a pristine or super-clean copy: it is an AVERAGE USED copy -- but one which is still acceptable and still enjoyable despite its flaws. A professional cleaning machine would help get to some of the dust out of the grooves.

** A hard to find promo from the SOFAD era with some great remixes **

Sleeve:

Official white Mute promo sleeve with logo is USED and is in FAIR condition. It shows several signs of use and wear (2 seam-splits, creases incl. a very pronounced corner crease, ringwear, small tears, smudges, dirt, marks incl. a pale rectangular mark left on the rear of the sleeve by the removal of a price sticker, although this is only noticeable in certain light.) On the plus side, the sleeve is still functional and still has some of its shine or gloss.

Depeche Mode: World In My Eyes – P12BONG20 – UK 12” promo (bonus promo)

Record:

Visually – what is immediately noticeable about this copy is that there is staining on the labels on both sides (brown marks.) Otherwise, there are scuffs, markings, light scratches; there is paper dust, but nothing terrible either i.e. scratches which would cause skips or jumps. Both sides play right through.

Side A:

There is surface noise at the start, and also moderate, and occasionally more intrusive surface noise, as the track builds. However, despite playing with a fair amount of crackle, this is still an enjoyable copy as the music is still ‘centre stage’ a lot of the time despite clear signs of wear. There is some crackle as the remix ends. I would grade as 4/4.5 to 5.5 out of 10.

Side B:

Plays with moderate (and sometimes more noticeable) surface noise throughout, but the music still dominates the sound field despite the crackle which is present below the surface of the music. I would grade as 4/ 4.5 out of 10.

In summary: this is NOT a pristine or super-clean copy: it is a USED and ‘BELOW AVERAGE’ copy -- but one which is still acceptable and still enjoyable despite its flaws. A professional cleaning machine would help get to some of the dust out of the grooves.
