Over the top midi-synth orchestrated pop melodrama in the grandest tradition. References to Scott Walker, John Cale and Richard Harris make perfect sense, as do allusions to “the evacuation of a mid-sized European capital; out of work Shakespearean extras (hanging out at the bar); lawyers screwed cause they backed the wrong revolution; odes to bad statues; and a couple other themes that completely sidestep the dead-in-the-water rocknroll underground pulsing through the AmerIndie salons of today…” Seriously, Your Blues dwarfs today’s indie scene, proving it’s numbing mediocrity in the process.
