Description

Deux Filles were actually two men: Simon Fisher Turner and Colin Lloyd Tucker.  They made 2 albums disguised as 2 French girls called Gemini Forque and Claudine Coule.  Double Happiness was the follow up to the acclaimed Silence and Wisdom album (see my other items in Ebay).  Although equally well received it had little promotion and a limited number of pressings were made. The album is released on Turner's and Tucker's own record label, Papier Mache, 1983, Pulp 32.  BAND MEMBERS: Colin Lloyd Tucker, Simon Turner and many guests including John Porter, Matt Johnson, Annie Hogan and Steve Shirlock.  Sleeve designed by filmmaker John Maybury.

The vinyl is in excellent condition, although by Record Collecting gradings it shows some signs of having been played, sound quality is still good.  There is marking on the sleeve where a price sticker was attached to the front right hand side of the sleeve - it's lifted some of the sheen off the sleeve coating, although it has not ripped the cover you can see a difference.  Also, if you look closely you can see where the shop assistant at Selectadisc had written on the label Deux Filles 99p - it's an indentation and no pen marks have leaked through.  There is some other general wear and tear to the sleeve, marking along the edges - it's nothing too serious but for this reason I have only graded the sleeve as VG.  Email me with questions if in doubt about bidding and i can send scans of the sleeve for you to check out the marking properly.
