Description
You are bidding on an original copy of Dewey Redman's Tarik LP on the french Actuel label. Both the laminated gatefold jacket, and the LP are in EX/EX condition. This particular copy has been autographed by "Malachi Favors" the bassist on this LP. Malachi Favors is best known for being the long standing bassist for the amazing Chicago based, Art Ensemble of Chicaco. This is Dewey Redman's first LP as a leader, and he has with him on this date, Ed Blackwell on drums, and Malachi Favors on the Bass. This trio is a very fluid and creative unit. The music is terrific and varied. Redman is heard on tenor saxophone, an musette. I have always loved this LP for many reasons. Ed Blackwell is one of my favorite jazz drummers. Best known for his long standing place in the Ornette Coleman quartet, in my opinion, his playing became more fluid in the 60's. His outings with other fellow bandmate, Don Cherry, who recorded 2 LPs for this french label in the 60's as well, truly show the wide range of sound he is capable of, rhythmically speaking. This record is no exception. His playing throughout will have you pulling your Atlantic era Ornette records and saying this drummer is truly an original. Don't miss this RARE item, signed by the amazing bassist from the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Mr. Favors himself. A great record in excellent condition. Bid confidently and bid to win.
