  DEXTER GORDON      A Swingin' Affair          Blue Note BST - 84133
Up for auction is an original U.S. Blue Note (Stereo - 1964) pressing of Dexter Gordon's August 29, 1962 stunning quartet session, "A Swingin' Affair". A great session featuring the Latin Bop classic "Soy Califa" and a gorgeous arrangement of "Until The Real Thing Comes Along". Features the unbeatable rhythm section of Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins. Recorded 2 days after "Go", with the same fantastic quartet. Absolutely essential later bop session, and maybe the best listen of this session. 
DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNST-84133-A etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST-84133-B etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER, STEREO and the cursive P (ear) stamped into the dead wax. Stone original 1964 Blue Note Stereo P-pressing.  
VINYL VISUAL: VG and much much better with numerous light marks and a wee bit of minor mottling. Moderately played with good labels. 
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ at least with very little noise on lead-ins and between tracks. Certainly above average in terms of what there is out there. Tons of great life left, and a joy to listen to.  
COVER VISUAL: VG+ with a slight dish warp and softened corners. Very minor seam/spine wear, and a frame-able copy of this classic glossy original cover. 
COMES WITH Original Blue Note 26 Years printed paper inner. Vinyl is held in an Audiophile style rice plastic inner.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item). 
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g. 
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
