Description
'It's Morrissey, Man!' The Dick Morrissey Quartet. This is the stereo pressing (STFL. 568) of the quartet's great 1961 Fontana session, featuring Malcolm Cecil on bass, Stan Jones, piano, Colin Barnes, drums, and Dick Morrissey, tenor sax. There are twelve superb cuts here, the pick being (in my opinion), their cover of Sonny Rollins' 'St. Thomas'. The sleeve has been signed to the reverse by Dick Morrissey (see photo'). The condition is as follows : Vinyl : There are some light surface marks visible, and a little spindle wear, but no skips or jumps. This plays beautifully, with minimal surface noise. Sleeve : The corners are a little bumped, with some very light creasing to the laminated front. The reverse is pretty clean, with the date of release written in biro at the top right corner. No loss, splits or tears. Overall, a very good copy indeed of a scarce album.
