Description
Dionysos ORIG CAN LP Le Grand Jeu VG+ '71 Jupiter YDS8032 Prog Rock
Original 1st Press Canadian LP released in 1971 on Jupiter Records. Cat: YDS.8032. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.
Uncovered in the out back of N.S.W. this record is part of a recent collection stored and unplayed for the last 20 years. Collected during the 90's and mostly sourced from overseas kept in a cool dry cellar there are some tasty gems on offer and we look forward on listing them over the next few months.
Dionysos is a quintet (A prog quartet plus leader Thibert on vocals and wind instruments) that develops a relatively conventional hard blues-rock with the usual prog traits (all tracks between 5 and 12 minutes) of the early 70's. Organ-driven, filled with searing and soaring guitar leads, the odd flute and the then-surprising Joual vocals (the local French dialect was not really fully accepted in 1970 in arts) and an intriguing gatefold artwork the inside being fairly naïve/childish though.
Tracks : Narcotique/ Suzie/ La cooler/ L'age du chlore/ L'age d'or (Instr.)/ Agneau de dieu.
There are some light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some crackles in parts and is in VG+ condition. Gatefold sleeve has a small surface tear on top right corner, some light marks, light ringwear and a few small surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post standard airrmail with tracking number.
We offer combined postage for multiple purchases.
