The Don Shirley Trio


London Records catno HA-A 2356 Mono, 1960 UK mono first pressing.

Owned by my grandfather from new, stored safely in the attic, unseen and unplayed since at least 1983.....


Vinyl - fine overall condition with nothing more than faint scuffs and hairlines in line with age and use.  There is a longer scratch/scuff to one side which is the most visible mark but cant be felt and after testing ive concluded is inaudible in itself.  The record throughout is surprisingly quiet given its age and my less than ideal vintage equipment with only minor snap and crackle to be heard.  The labels are clean and show minimal spindle marking.  Very good plus would seem very reasonable considering age but then we know its not been played for 40odd yrs!


Jacket - original UK flipback in solid condition but notably thinner than the Cadence US Don Shirley releases of the same time and feels it.  The flipback has lifted a little at the bottom but is mostly intact.  The jacket is crushed at the spine but there are no splits.  If well cared for it should last well.  The inner sleeve may well be original too and is poly lined.
