The arrangements follow the same feel, with a soft-psychadelic organ driven backing, perfect for Donovan's hushed and quirky vocals. The melodies are quite catchy and Donovan does an eloquent job on vocals. He sounds like a madman himself on "Mad John's Escape". It's almost childlike music with a psychadelic edge. In fact, it's probably the strongest connection that I could make in my head pointing to Syd Barrett.
