Description
Artist The Mello-Moods Song "Where Are You" b/w "How Could You" Label & # Robin #105 (December 1951) Vinyl Scuffs & crackle - NO Skips ! Voices clear despite the noise. Record found among a lot of 45s and I will not attempt to further cleaning it ( I do not have any "Pro" cleaning artifact!). Labels: As in scan Picture Sleeve or Cover Remarks Extremely Rare & Hard To Find. Jeff Kreiter has it listed for $2,500.00 of course in better conditions. This is the original "ROBIN" release not the "Red Robin" reissue.
The Mello-Moods. Original group consisted of Ray "Buddy" Wooten (lead tenor,), Jimmy Bethea (bass), Bobby Williams (second tenor & piano), Bobby Baylor (baritone) and Monte Owens (tenor & guitar). The two Bobby's and Monte later joined in forming The Solitaires (Old Town, etc)

The tunes were released in December as Robin 105. Robin Records were distributed by Jubilee, and ads for “Where Are You” appear along with ads for the Orioles' “Baby Please Don't Go” and Buddy Lucas' “Diane.” Note that Robinson issued his first three records using a numbering scheme which assigned only odd numbers to his records: 101, 103, and 105. When the owners of the other Robin Records, in Tennessee, stopped him from using the name, he simply changed it to Red Robin. At that time, Robin 101, 103 and 105 were reissued as Red Robins. (Since a 78 rpm copy of Red Robin 105 has recently surfaced, it's reasonable to assume that number 103 will also turn up someday.) (My note: what about this 45rpm??) Then he switched to a more conventional system, issuing numbers 102 and 104 on Red Robin. Thus, the second Mello-Moods release would have a lower number than the first.

RECORD GRADING:
MINT: Unplayed, still sealed.
M – Played vinyl but has no marks and plays with little or no surface noise.
VG++ : Played vinyl has one or two light marks and plays with minimal surface noise.
VG+: Played vinyl has more than a few marks and plays with light surface noise.
VG: Well played vinyl has a lot of surface marks but no deep scratches, vinyl plays with surface noise but sound quality is still good. No Skips.
