The Doors "Absolutely Live" original USA 33 1/3 rpm Long-playing (LP) two promotional phonograph records, Elektra Records EKS-9002, with gatefold album cover. The two stereo records have white promotional ("Radio Station Copy") labels, with black Elektra logo, and black print text. All labels are clean, with no writing on any side. The Doors featured Jim Morrison (vocals), Robby Krieger (guitar), Ray Manzarek (keyboards, vocals), and John Densmore (drums). There is a large full-color photograph of The Doors performing live on stage, pictured on the inside of the gatefold album cover; there are also eight smaller full-color individual photographs of The Doors band members performing live. "Absolutely Live" was recorded in cities throughout the United States, between August of 1969 and June of 1970. "Absolutely Live" was released in the United States, in 1970. The songs on the record are (Side One / Side time 19:17) "Who Do You Love", Medley: "Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)", "Backdoor Man", "Love Hides", "Five To One", (Side Two / Side time 18:33) "Build Me A Woman" "When The Music's Over", (Side Three / Side time 18:00) "Close To You", "Universal Soldier", "Break On Thru, # 2", (Side Four / Side time 21:52) "The Celebration Of The Lizard", and "Soul Kitchen". "Who Do You Love" was written by Elias McDaniel (AKA Bo Diddley). "Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)" was written by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht. "Backdoor Man" and "Close To You" were written by Willie Dixon. "Universal Soldier" was written by Jim Morrison and Robbie Krieger. All other songs were written by Jim Morrison and The Doors. The record was produced by Paul A. Rothchild. Engineered by Bruce Botnick. Cover photography by Frank Lisciandro. Inside photography by Ed Caraeff and Robert L. Heimall. Art direction and design by Robert L. Heimall. The discs in this rare thirty-seven-year-old promotional ("Radio Station Copy") two-record set are in near mint condition. The records come in white poly-lined die-cut paper sleeves. The original full-color Elektra Records paper sleeves are also included. The gatefold album cover is in excellent plus condition. There is some very slight cover wear present. This is as nice of a copy of this two-record set that you will find. The records, sleeves, and album cover come in a clear protective sleeve. The 2001 "Goldmine Record Album Price Guide" lists a near mint promotional copy of "Absolutely Live" at $80.00. That is a six-year-old price.
