Doors

Strange days

Original 1st Press US LP released in 1967 on the Gold & White Elektra Records Label. Cat: EKS74014. Comes with original printed lyric inner bag which has a seam split down left side and a small seam split on bottom centre edge as well as a few light age spots and tiny tears along top. Insert is in VG condition.

This batch of LP’s are from a very recently acquired collection of all original late 60’s early 70’s pressing LP’s. There are around 200 albums I hope to list over the coming weeks some fantastic titles amongst them most over 45 years old!! I have hand cleaned and listened to every album and graded conservatively (as per usual) to give the most accurate grading I can. I hope you enjoy browsing or bidding on the titles as much as I have listening to them all.

The Doors' second album redefined their uncompromising art. The disturbing timbre of Ray Manzarek's organ work provided the musical cloak through which guitarist Robbie Kreiger and vocalist Jim Morrison projected. Few singers in rock possessed his authority, where every nuance and inflection bore an emotional intensity. STRANGE DAYS contains some of the quartet's finest work, from the apocolyptic vision of the epic "When The Music's Over" to the memorable quirkiness of "People Are Strange" and "Moonlight Drive." The graphic "Horse Latitudes," meanwhile, confirmed Morrison's wish to be viewed as a poet, a stance ensuring that the Doors would always be more than just another rock band.

Tracks: Strange days/ You’re lost little girl/ Love me two times/ Unhappy girl/ Horse latitudes/ Moonlight drive/ People are strange/ My eyes have seen you/ I can’t see your face in my mind/ When the music’s over.

There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some light crackles throughout mostly noticeable between tracks. There is a light crackly noise on two rotations on track 1 side one otherwise record plays very nicely and is in VG+ condition. Thick matt finish cover has some ring wear, light scuffing on corners and some tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.

Payment is accepted by Paypal. Within Australia we also accept Direct deposit transfer and Australia Post Money Orders.
