33rpm double vinyl album of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Charles Hart, featuring the original London cast: Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Steve Barton and others. It was issued on the stereo Really Useful Group label in 1987. UK pressing. Catalogue number: PODV9
The records themselves grade excellent minus to excellent with light surface marks visible under normal house lighting. Play tested on an audio-technica turntable:
Record 1, Side 1: 4-5 tics near the start of track 1; consecutive ticks for about 10 seconds on track 2; occasional light pop. 97% of the side plays NM. Record 1, Side 2: couple of places with tics lasting 3-4 seconds; occasional light pop; tiny bit of crackle. 99% of the side plays NM. Record 2, Side 1: 6 soft tics halfway through the side; occasional light pop. 99% of the side plays NM. Record 2, Side 2: 6 soft tics a third of the way through the side; very occasional light pop. 99% of the side plays NM.
The gatefold sleeve grades very good plus, with light rubbing to edges and corners, faint ring wear. Hype sticker to front cover. The spine is intact and strong with no loss to the lettering. The inner sleeves have no wear to speak of.
