Description

Hi, and welcome to my listing.

Over the coming weeks and months there will be many highly sought-after albums/singles being listed, including some titles which are so rare that I haven’t been able to find other copies anywhere else. Many items, drawn from a specialist private collection, can be sure to appeal to the more refined collectors – as it is my intent to offer the more refreshing and distinguished titles as much as possible. In addition, it is probably worth noting that I will be offering many of these items at a very competitive – in most circumstances unrivalled – price points for its grade. Fairness is of great importance to me. In light of all of this, I invite anybody interested in vinyl to ‘see [my] other items’, as I’m confident there will be something of interest for everyone. Enjoy!

Grading

(According to the ‘Rare Record Collectors’ Guide’s Criteria/ My personal audio setup)

Cover: VG    The cover is presentable and remains very useable. This is the rare tri-fold sleeve, which opens up like you can see in the photo provided. As expected with age and use, there is some storage wear and foxing around the edges of the cover, a small written name on the inside and other age-related blemishes (slight ringwear). This always was a very delicate cover from the beginning, so this really is a reasonable example considering this. Very slight tear on side 1 label. Colours of the cover are still nice and vibrant, although faded in some areas. I would say this remains a solid and acceptable copy. Please refer to the photos for yourself - one picture is worth 1000 words!

Vinyl (Visually): VG The vinyl displays lots of wispy hairline marks on both sides, which i presume are sleeve-removal caused. Many light marks around the surface (with a few scuffs here and there), although near all of them are unfeelable and cosmetic only. This was examined under strong light, so many will be invisible under normal room light conditions. Again, there is nothing heavy on the surface or anything which is worth drawing too much concern towards. I would say that, barring the extreme vault-copy and audiophile collectors, this should be acceptable to the majority of collectors who want a reasonable copy that is still very listenable.

Playback: Played Entirely (In the context of my audio setup) - VG/VG+ The album played all the way through with no skips, sticks, jumps etc. Audio performed with a great dynamic range; a very full and warm sound. There were no paches of unbearable surface noise anywhere on the record. Any surface noise there was remained relatively low and was not too overwhelming. Some ticks here and there, but nothing which (for me) detracted from the whole listening experience. Some slight static and pops in places, particularly the quieter passages and beginnings of tracks. However, overall, I would say the media performed very well. Of course, this is only stated in context of my personal setup, but given that my turntable is quite a sensitive one, I assume that most other turntables will experience something similar (give or take) to the pleasing audio feedback I experienced. All round solid perfomance.

Additional comments: I believe this is a very first UK pressing - featuring the tri-fold sleeve and struck out matrix (as seen in the photo). Side 1 Matrix: K 50017 A1. Side 2 Matrix: K 50017 B1.

As a gesture of good faith, I have play tested all of my items over £20 (entirely) so that you can grasp a firm and transparent understanding of the performance - please see above for this. This will, in alignment with convention, go alongside a meticulous visual grading (of which I aim to be as fair and accurate as possible). As shown, detailed photos of the item are provided, allowing you to view it with great clarity: please feel free to inspect it for yourself. For the purposes of certainty, I will complement the photos with a supplementary description. As a bonus (for all my items), I ensure the item is packed in a strong purpose-built mailer, with stiffeners and bubble wrap. I will also clean the vinyl, attempt to remove any present static and place it and the sleeve in a protective cover (as further reinforcement to the packaging). I do not, unlike most other people, charge for such extras – and so postage remains at its lowest cost for the chosen delivery! I am happy to answer any additional questions about the item, if there is something i've missed.

All items above £15 will be 'signed for', for seller & buyer protection. Again, I will happily absorb this cost!

UK postage only.

Thank You.
