Dragsters “Desert Race” JOOKLO 12” LP super rare!

Very obscure release from the JOOKLO team under a moniker “Dragsters” features Maurizio Abate on electric guitar, David Vanzan on drums, Virginia Genta on saxophone and Luca Massolin on electric bass.

Issued on 8MM records this one-sided 12” record disappeared immediately after the press.  I was told that one distributor bought nearly the entire lot.  Can’t rememner how I managed to get hold of this, just remember that it was fairly expensive.

EVERYTHING IN PERFECT AS NEW CONDITION…  cover art is the same as on the picture, but my record comes in a brown envelope, not white as on this label stock photo.

Hailing from the dusty streets of nowhere, here come the Dragsters! There is currently no information available about this band, whose members identities remain kept secret. Featuring fuzzed, freaked out guitars, minimal drums, alien saxophone vibes and pulsating electric bass, "Desert Race" is an incandescent pyre of free-form acid-dub–funk–rock! Spacing from the slow-motion boogie of "Night Ride" to the Sabbath-doom lament of "Mammuth" and ending with the deep funk grooves of "Street Fire". There is enough substance in this music to blur your eyes, which droop pleasantly as you settle into your chair and let the drugged-out cosmic jams melt your bones.

Italy’s 8mm label is famous for releasing super limited records by somewhat known and completely unknown bands whose vinyl platters seem to vanish in a matter of hours. This Dragsters one-sided LP in an edition of 113 copies is a prime example of such an artifact that fewer people than are currently standing in your local unemployment line will ever get a chance to experience. Dragsters is yet another incarnation of Italy’s Neokarma Jooklo ensemble, an ever-changing constellation of musicians who play all manner of cosmic and wastoid musics in the higher key stylee, and who have released records on labels such as Qbico, Troglosound, Conspiracy and others. Dragsters features Maurizio Abate on electric guitar, David Vanzan on drums, Virginia Genta on saxophone and Luca Massolin on electric bass. The four tracks on this disc push a helluva lot of air with their acid, dub n’ funk-fueled psych moves that make me think of a boogiefied Bardo Pond were those Philadelphians ever to attempt a run through of the Funkadelic songbook. These Dragsters strut and bounce like nobody’s business, lemme tell you. Of course, their use of 100% pure uncut distortion will forever prevent Dragsters from getting spun at all but the most rarified of block parties where gin n’ juice would most definitely give way to hops n’ herb. I’d be lying if I told you I couldn’t use another few dozen records like this one propped up next to the stereo, but I suppose it’s the scarcity of such treasures that truly makes one appreciate a record like this one when it lands on your doorstep. -         I will ship everywhere, but for some countries I will require a purchase of insurance.  I have to do this for my protection.  Paypal protection for seers is minimal.  Basically in case of a dispute paypal protection for buyers is considerably more generous that that for sellers.  I need to ensure that I am too compensated in case if item is lost.

-         Since I am not a record dealer and rarely sell stuff I don’t know what it will cost to ship items in advance.  I try to keep shipping cost AS LOW AS POSSIBLE.  After auction ends I do my best to estimate cost of the postage using the Royal Mail website.  I may be a few pence off in either direction… but not more.

-         Ebay listing system puts restrictions on postage costs.  I WILL SEND INVOICES TO ALL NON-UK BUYERS.  PLEASE DO NOT PAY BEFORE THAT.  Listing may indicate international post as £0.01, that of course is not accurate…
