Duster - STRATOSPHERE - 1998 UP Records. Vinyl is in Excellent MINUS condition, jacket is in Excellent condition and still in shrinkwrap, Original issue LP. Including a bonus 7 inch single from my collection of 45s: Duster - Transmission, Flux on UP records 1997 which is listing on Discogs right now at $50+...  

I've included pictures of some surface markings on the vinyl that are audible on playback. This album wasn't pressed on audiophile caliber wax in 1998 and I can't account for what's visible, I remember purchasing the album new in '98 and have always taken good care of my records.  If you are looking for flawless playback then you are better off purchasing one of the newer reissues of Stratosphere.  But for an original and highly sought after copy, I still think this one is in excellent (minus) condition, the surface noise that is apparent on playback is not enough to deter from my enjoyment of listening to the LP and, after listening to the album again front to back on my stereo, I really think it sounds excellent with only very little surface "static" sound audible between certain tracks and during quieter passages.  All sales are final, thank you.

In May 2018 I plunged into massive credit card debt making my first feature film here in Kansas City, the David Lynch inspired WRETCH, the poster for which appears in the image gallery. Please rent it online if you can!

On May 31st I was in a bicycle accident and shattered my right wrist. I had surgery June 9th and unfortunately I wasn’t carrying health insurance so now there’s a whole new heap of expenses added to the pile.

This is all to say that I’ve been collecting records since high school and it is a passion of mine but I think the time has come for me to sell off my collection. So I am spending these last few weeks of unemployment cataloging and grading my collection and will be listing thousands of records on eBay soon so please check back to see what else I’m putting up. I’ll probably start a store temporarily, but I wanted to leave things off with this DUSTER album.

I had no idea that this original issue of the album was selling for as much as it is but I understand it. I first heard this band when I was in college working for KJHK in Lawrence. I championed this CD and got it on air and the track gold dust was an immediate deep favorite of mine. I knew that Numero records out of Chicago had recently released all their stuff but I didn’t realize how popular they have become. Funny anecdote, I had a meeting with Ken Shipley, who runs Numero, when he was considering putting out music from my band Proudentall, the same year this duster album came out, 1998. If anyone is interested I have a couple copies of our first 7 inch available too...
