Description

This is a great compilation celebrating 65 years of jazz in the Dutch town of Venlo. This compilation covers the period of 1970 till 1975. It says Venlose Jazz Club Life on the cover but I suspect they mean “Live”. The record seems to be a private press.

 

The record comes with an inlay stating the performing bands but not the songs that are being played.

 

Side 1: Valuas City Jazzband, Hot Club De Rotterdam, Misja Mengelberg/Han Bennink, Ben Webster/Tete Montoliu/Pierre Courbois/Wim Essed, Rein De Graaff/Dik Vennik Quartet feat. Red Rodney, Trio Louis van Dijk feat. John Engels and Jacques Schols.
