Description
Dvorak/RCA LSC-2490 Cello Concerto/Piatigorsky Stampers 1S/1S, “I” Indianapolis pressing. Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, Gregor Piatigorsky, Charles Munch conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Producer: Max Wilcox, Recording Engineer: John Crawford.
It is not surprising that all cello virtuosos have a special fondness for Dvorak’s Concerto. The sum of really good cello concertos is scanty in any case; those of true musical stature can be counted on one hand. This one has a direct and constantly fluent melodic charm, a warm play of color, a particularly agreeable confluence of solo and orchestra which sets it quite apart. I’m a big Starker fan but this is a great recording that should be in a persons collection.
Record play-graded on VPI TNT-5 turntable with VPI/ JMW 12.5 tonearm and Van Den Hul, The Frog cartridge. RCA LSC-2490 (SIDE 1) EX+ (Side 2) VG+, 2'' in 4 quick clicks,(still a great listening experience,a brilliant performance).Jacket Cover: VG+ some corner shelf wear, no seam splits.
This record is play-graded so you will know exactly what you are buying. Consider this is time consuming on my part, but is not just a visual inspection like most sellers are. They cannot afford to spend 30-40 minutes to listen and take notes. I’m sure you have made purchases that promise a shiny (under light), no scratches, ticks, etc. but were disappointed in playing your new purchase. Please take in account if you want to purchase an LP that gives you an accurate description or just a visual to determine your purchase. I try to grade records accurately. I have found over the years that records don't always play or sound the same on different systems. Disc is professionally cleaned and record will be removed from original cover and placed in a new sleeve to avoid the possibility of damaging the original cover in shipping. I take packaging seriously so your LP arrives safely. Photographs are actual photos of LP offered and not cropped so you can see details. No smoking, no pet’s environment.
Buy with confidence, guaranteed 14-day money-back guarantee (excluding return shipping) if you are not completely satisfied with your LP purchase. Thank you and good luck on your bidding.
