Description

  • Eagles released their sixth studio album "The Long Run" in September 1979 on Asylum Records. It was the first album with Timothy B. Schmidt as a replacement for Randy Meisner. It was also the last album with Don Felder who was fired by Glenn Frey and Don Henley for objecting to how the band's earnings were being divided up. "Heartache Tonight," "The Long Run," and "I Can't Tell You Why" were hit singles form the album.

  • This copy (5E-508) is from the first pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover has a few minor scuffs but is easily VG+ as is the original inner sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in NYC and was pressed at the Allied Record Co. plant in Los Angeles. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched 5E 508 A 14 AR B-14399-1 and is stamped Sterling TJ and then etched with the in-joke text "Never Let Your Monster Lay Down."

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 42 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
