EAR PIERCING PUNK LP RARE 60s GARAGE GROUPIES DEAN CARTER MISTIC TIDE 1. PRESS !!!!
Along with the original Nuggets/ Pebbles/ Psychedelic Unknowns series of garage punk comps Ear-Piercing Punk was one of the first stand-alone collections. It was given a then-contemporary 70s punk sleeve to get 'the kids' to buy into 60s garage. I've no idea if it worked.... bit of a weird notion... but maybe a few stray Pistols/Clash/Lurkers fans got hooked into the 60s garage punk thing through this record. It would be nice to think so.
Great selection anyway and definitely worth picking up, it's not too hard to find. Along with a truckload of really crude 60s punkers like Sparkles and Ugly Ducklings you get two 50s throwback titles from Dean Carter and thee best upbeat Mystic Tide number Running Through The Night.
Don't let the anachronistic sleeve fool you - this is a mighty payload of savage 60s garage punk at its best.(Review: Bradx – July 2014)
