Description

I recently had the good fortune to buy a big collection of those rather limited early 80's Garage Punk & Psychedelic compilations LPs from a trusted collector who bought these all at the time....(ummm...from a shop I owned back then, in fact....ah, the cycle of time works in wonderful ways sometimes).

Anyway, this is one of them.

ARTIST:      VARIOUS ARTISTS -
TITLE:          "EAR-PIERCING PUNK"

SUB-TITLE:      .

FORMAT:     …vinyl LP…
LABEL:         Trash .
CAT. #:          TR-0001  .
DATE OF RELEASE:   1979 .
PRESSED IN:    USA .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?   Yes!...

QUANTITY PRESSED (if known):   .

TRACKS:
Ear-Piercing Punk ~ Basically a Pebbles volume clad in a hideous

fluorescent pink Kings Road Punk Rock sleeve, it was designed to trick trendy punk rock kids into

purchasing and digging `60s punk sounds. Whether it worked or not, who knows? As a `60s punk fan

I was pissed off at the time by the dumb cover and total lack of information but MIGHTY pleased with the

sounds within.

Some killers include: the Bohemian Vendetta's "Enough," Keith Kessler's "Don't Crowd Me" and the

Groupies' great rampage through "I'm A Hog For You Baby."...but quality is HIGH here...too many

standouts to mention really.

I was real pleased to see the Outlaw Blues' "Nonstop Blues" make the cut, this fast-paced rework of

"Milk Cow Blues" is a personal fave with its bizarrely accented (Cajun?) vocals and the deranged cry

of "SSSSSSSSUCKKK!" kickin' in the guitar break.

Side 1 1. The Groupies - Hog (I'm A Hog For You Baby) 2. The Trashmen - Ubangi Stomp 3. Dean Carter - Rebel Woman 4. Outlaw Blues - Nonstop Blues 5. The Mile Ends - Bottle Up And Go 6. The Sound Extraction - I Feel Like Crying 7. Bohemian Vendetta - Enough 8. Dean Carter - Jailhouse Rock
Side 2 1. The Sparkles - No Friend Of Mine 2. Keith Kessler - Don't Crowd Me 3. The Herde - Mister You're A Better Man Than I 4. The Mystic Tide - Running Through The Night 5. The Age Of Reason - (Your Love Is Like A) Magnet 6. The Kommotions - Little Black Egg 7. The Ugly Ducklings - She Ain't No Use To Me 8. The Third Booth - I Need Love

CONDITION:

COVER: (M-)...basically mint/untouched, but I did notice a tiny ding in the top right corner...

VINYL: (EX)...shiny vinyl, but with just a few very mild marks...plays perfectly!...

LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT)...

If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks).

You can pay in US$'s or UK pounds or EURO's or Australian dollars.

CLICK ON view sellers other auctions ABOVE FOR SIMILAR ITEMS - I list lots of punk / garage'n'psych (60s –> 90s) / power pop / guitar pop / soul & R'n'B / some occasional original 50's rock'n'roll & rockabilly plus industrial/experimental rarities from down this way - vinyl mostly, and posters, some CDs - (admittedly you’ll find all sorts of other guff too)...

Thanks for considering this item. Best of luck if you decide to bid...Cheers, Jules.
