EAST OF EDEN – Mercator Projected ORIG Deram LP / DML 1038 (UK, Mono, 1969)

Happy to present surely one of the very best remaining copies of East Of Eden’s debut from ’69, not only in incredible condition throughout but also in super rare MONO with correct Decca red border, poly-lined inner.

The single format, front laminated, peephole sleeve is in ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC CONDITION and shows little evidence of any handling, never mind wear.  If you bought this ‘as new’ today, there’d be little telling that this sleeve comes from another era, 41 years ago.  A couple of light (virtually invisible) creases to the top front, ultra faint ring impression and a thin strip of laminate lift towards the spine are the only blemishes away from a true Mint sleeve.  There’s NO splits, tears, writing, feathering, scrapes or foxing spots.  The corners maintain near to full definition.  The spine is as new with no crushing (has the ‘pinched’ ends top and bottom).  The rear panel is a lovely, fresh white with no toning or yellowing and the peephole is sharp with no softening.  Overall, a mighty example of this fragile sleeve and one which merits a proper M- (Mint Minus) grade.

The original brown Mono Deram labels are in a fabulous, near to shop fresh state.  No writing, stickers, tears etc.  No foxing or dirt and only one, maybe two spindle traces to either side.  THIS RECORD HAS HARDLY SEEN PLAY!

The heavyweight disc is in, I would think, near unbeatable condition.  There are NO real marks of any note to either side.  That means no scratches, scuffs, hairlines, embedded dirt, pimples or craters.  I could barely make out some ultra fine removal traces but you’ll be looking hard to spot anything untoward.  A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE MONO ISSUE which has to grade a confident M- (Mint Minus).  IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO  and plays with NO nasties whatsoever.  So expect a quiet ride into this mystical prog LP with NO snap, crackle, pop, clicks, hiss, distortion or loss of clarity.  A beautifully preserved late 1960s record!  Lovely!

Supplied in its correct red border mono inner, this example will surely be VERY hard to better and is ready to take its place in the most bespoke Progressive collections.  NO RESERVE!
