Description
This is a very hard to find Eddie Cochran EP called Stockin's 'n' Shoes. Released on Liberty in 1964, the recordings were first published in 1959.
An added interest to collectors is that both sides of this rare vinyl carry FIRST PRESS Stampers.
LIBERTY Catalogue Number: LEP 2180
MATRICES: LEP 2180-A-1N and LEP 2180-B-1N
STAMPER Codes: 1 KT R (Both sides)
While both sides of this vinyl look superb (nice and shiny, with no marks visible to my naked eye) playback is different for each side. Side 1 plays faultlessly and I have no hesitation in giving it an Excellent+ grading. However, side 2 has surface crackle throughout both tracks (I must assume that this side has been played the most), which I have to admit spoiled my enjoyment of the songs, which are quieter numbers. The labels are clean (a few spindle marks) and the spindle hole shows little sign of wear. The original picture sleeve has some ring wear and is slightly dished, but there is no creasing and it is otherwise clean and sound.
I have started the listing price realistically because of the surface crackle on side 2, but this is still a great looking vinyl, it's rare and it's also a genuine First Press copy. Though my assessment has been given honestly, should this item not meet with expectation I will accept its return (in its present condition) and make full refund of the amount paid.
The record will be despatched in a 7" record mailer, with stiffeners, by First Class Recorded Delivery (UK), or Airmail for overseas.
I accept payment by cheque (UK only), PayPal, or cash if collected in person. I would appreciate payment within 24 hours of the auction closing, but otherwise please contact me to let me know when payment will be made.
