Edgar Broughton Band

'Bandages'

NEMS, UK, 1976

NEL 6006

GREAT ALBUM from this highly respsected British agit-prop progressive rock band who took the scene by storm in the late sixties. Their brand of killer prog rock and fuzzed out garage was all the rage at frestivals and not without good reasons either. Put this album on your turntable and it stills sounds brilliantly fresh to this day - in fact, if you played Franz Ferdinand and the Killers back to back you would hardly notice the difference. Some great stuff here with the guitars coughing and spluttering like they were falling apart at the seams whilst the drums crash around like a massive fireworks explosion. As a three piece they were even madder sounding than the Pink Fairies and that's saying something. Highly experimental, the album touches all bases from free-jazz to heavy prog but without falling back on any cliches helping the music to still sound fresh and relevant.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
