"A Girl Like You" is a northern soul-inspired 1995 single by Scottish singer-songwriter Edwyn Collins from his album Gorgeous George. The song samples the drums track of Len Barry's 1965 hit "1-2-3". It was featured in the Empire Records soundtrack and second in the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack. On TV, it was featured in the Cleopatra 2525 episode Run Cleo Run, Spin City episode The Commitments, as well as in a Marks & Spencer advert in 2012. Alvin and the Chipmunks covered the song as a bonus track on their 2007 video game Alvin and the Chipmunks.

  • The song went to #4 on the UK singles chart and stayed on the chart for 14 weeks.
  • "A Girl Like You" was featured in VH1's 100 Greatest One-hit Wonders at #68.
  • Through downloads, "A Girl Like You" re-entered the UK Singles Charts in September 2012.
