BOO BABE/CAN’T YOU SEE IT IN MY EYES

THE ELECTRAS

LOLA 100 (orange-label 45)

Great ultra-obscure (albeit slightly schizophrenic) Northern Soul! A-side is a struttin’ Coasters-esque bouncer with wild vocals; B-side ventures successfully into beat-ballad territory, with strong vocal harmonies and flutes a la some of Dee Clark’s Vee Jay sides. An unsung gem!

Hear a sound sample of the more upbeat A-side here:

Disc is MINT-. Labels are clean and crisp. Vinyl is vibrant and dark; plays with a little intro crackle, but is clear and strong. It has a few very isolated, very light surface scuffs (from its paper sleeve). Disc has had few (if any) plays.

Please check out our other offerings for a mouth-watering selection of DIMENSION and RED BIRD rarities, from the legendary collection of David A. Young!
