Description
ELMO HOPE TRIO "New Faces New Sounds" Blue Note 5029, DG, P, Mono 10" Vinyl
This is the 10" 1953 first pressing, Deep Groove, Frame Cover, Flat Rim, "P"-pressing of ELMO HOPE TRIO's "New Faces New Sounds" on the "767 Lexington Ave" labels of Blue Note BLP 5029. Musicians include Hope, Pearcy Heath, Philly Joe Jones.
VINYL plays with consistent loud surface noise, crackles, ticks and pops. But Instruments are clear, clean, dynamic, powerful. Many hairline marks; a few feelable. One side has what look like stripes of marks, but not audible or feelable. One 1" gash is audible. No distortion. No locked grooves. No groovewear. No warps. The Deep Grooved "767 Lexington Ave" labels are clean with minimal spindle wear. See photos.
The FRAME COVER is in good shape, lower right corner damaged. Left area water damaged. Otherwise, Spine and Seams are fine. Corners worn. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Ave New York 21" back jacket shows wear and aging. Lower left corner surface tear. See photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
