Details: - Superb copy of the bands 1st (debut) album Issued in 1970, this is the first Pink Rim issue on the Island label on `Thick Vinyl` in Top Mint- condition in E.J.Day sleeve. These first `Heavy Vinyl` Pink Rim pressings play really well with top quality dynamics especially needed on an album of such `light & shade` as this, for example the high & low frequencies of `The Barbarian` then the quiet sections such as `Take a Pebble` are all dealt with easily, a real joy to listen to - Matrix ILPS 9132 A-2U/ILPS 9132 B-1U

The cover art painting is by the British artist Nic Dartnell. It was originally intended for the American group Spirit. The bald-headed man on the left of the cover is Spirit's drummer, Ed Cassidy. The cover depicts a fluttering white bird with a human ear in the bottom left corner; the bird's left wing outlines the back of the male head to which the ear is attached, the other half of which is on the back of the album, and the right wing outline female head

Gradings: I use the standard UK gradings as set out in Record Collector Magazine below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Near Mint, EX+, VG+ etc are acceptable additions to help `fine tune` descriptions for the buyer
