This is the UK Original press of ‘Captain Fantastic’ by Elton John. This early press is complete with the Arun hand engraved in the run-out on both sides. The vinyl is translucent red when held to the light and the label has the wide rim around the outside. The vinyl is complete with 2 booklets and the 1st press heavy paper poster. The vinyl has the original inner sleeve and Shorewood Packaging gatefold sleeve.
The record is in Very Good+ condition. The vinyl is superb, extremely glossy, with just one or two wispy light marks and one tiny mark on Side 1. The label is bold and clean with vivid colours, bright text and just a little spindle wear.
The poster and 2 booklets are in Near Mint condition.
The record sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl plays through exceptionally clear and bright. As is common to these LPs there is little noise and one tiny pop on the mark but the sound is still very rich and bold from start to finish.
The 1st Shorewood Packaging gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The image is superb, the colours are vivid and it is sharp and completely unworn. The edges are extremely firm, there is just the slightest wear. The inside is perfect and the spine is firn with clear, sharp text. 586 (GS 6.8 (586))
